Hi, my name is Amelie Verret and I grew up in the Eastern townships in a village called La Patrie. I started sports at a very young age and never stopped since then. After hockey and karate I discovered snowboard in which I have been competed for 8 years. I grew up in La Patrie but moved to Sherbrooke when I was 12 and lived there to go to school. I went to University there and got my bachelor degree in kinesiology. I am currently a personal trainer and a metal framer and really enjoy it. I am moving to Alberta for a while but I will of course continue competing because it became a passion.
Beside fitness I also enjoy biking, snowboarding, rollerblading, tennis, drawing, cars and anything that will make me move. I also like to travel, meet new people and spend time with my family, boyfriend and my black cat.
I discovered fitness on TV and I taught; those girls are in such good shape! I was also really impressed by the routine. I then decided that I would like to give it a try so I did. I have been competing for almost 5 years now and still enjoy it very much. I like the challenge that the fitness gives me, it’s hard work but at the end it’s all worth it. I plan on continuing competing as long as I can and always challenge myself too. It is a really great sport and if you think on trying don’t hesitate, go all the way and work hard. Eat healthy and be consistent with the trainings it‘s the key to success!
